The OSD recording feature embeds date, time, timecode and other data into the original camera files, effectively "time stamping" the information into each frame of video, a requirement for legal and law enforcement videographers. For projects that require the date and time to be visible in the image, the camera will be able to include that information in the on-screen display while recording.
Add impact to your films with dynamic wide and close up shots captured with the powerful 20x optical zoom and advanced image stabilization. Customize the camera with five assignable buttons and use the built-in ND filters to adjust exposure for wider apertures or slower shutter speeds.
The VIXIA HF G70's lens covers a 29.3 – 601mm (35mm equivalent) range. Digital zoom boosts the 20x optical zoom to 800x magnification. To minimize camera shake, the camera provides Canon’s Dynamic IS 5-axis image stabilization.
The VIXIA HF G70 features an advanced Hybrid AF system with focusing speed adjustable for either Fast or Smooth AF. Using the ultra-bright 3.5-inch LCD display, set the focus by simply touching the AF point you need. For even greater accuracy and convenience, especially with busy environments where you need to keep a subject in frame, Face Detection AF and Face Tracking is also available while Manual Focus is set via the focus/zoom ring.
The VIXIA HF G70 features a circular aperture designed using EF lens series technology, providing natural and beautiful bokeh shapes that are nearly circular.
The VIXIA HF G70 supports MP4 recording, specifically, 4K UHD at 150Mbps 30P/24P, plus Full HD 35Mbps or 17Mbps at 60P/30P/24P.
A host of output and recording options include Infrared mode, Slow Motion recording in 0.4x Full HD, Fast Motion recording in 4K/Full HD up to 1200x and an array of Scene Modes. A custom picture menu enables color matching with other Canon cameras while audio scene mode adds sound recording tuned to your environment. Simultaneous backup and relay recording via dual SD card slots is also included.
