The Electro-Voice EVID C4.2 loudspeaker system is acomplete two-way ceiling loudspeaker package. Thepackage consists of a bezel assembly, grille, rear enclosure,4-inch coax two-way loudspeaker and internal line-matchingtransformer. The louspeaker features a waveguide coupledtitanium coated dome tweeter. The EVID C4.2 loudspeakerutilizes a 2nd order crossover network at 3.3kHz, with acomprehensive protection circuit to protect the network,woofer, and tweeter drivers from excessive power levels. TheC.42 utilizes a transformer that offers a selection of 1.88 (70-V only), 3.75, 7.5, 15 or 30 watts delivered to the louspeakersystem using eith 70-V or 100-V lines, or 8Ω bypass.Selection is via a convenient switch on the front baffl e. Theperforated grille is fi nished in semi-gloss white powdercoated enamel. The baffl e and bezel are constructed from UL94V-0 rated ABS. The rear enclosure is contructed from zincplated, heavy gauge steel. The rear enclosure, with fi berglassdamping material, provides an optimum internal volumefor extended low-frequency performance. A rear cover,with provision for a junction box fi tting, provides access toa 4-pin terminal block that allows direct connection to thespeaker with 12-gauge wire and provides pass-through toadditional speakers. The EVID C2.4D model features a 3-pinfi re-safety rated input block. A tile bridge is included for safesuspension of the C4.2 ceiling systems in a drop ceiling thatuses mineral wool, or other fi ber-based ceiling tiles.
