The built-in dual subwoofer and front speakers feature an X-Balanced Speaker Unit. The unique rectangular shape of these speakers maximises the diaphragm area for more punchy bass. It also reduces driver excursion while maintaining sound pressure, resulting in less distortion and greater vocal clarity.
The deeper the bass sound, the more the speaker diaphragm moves. This can cause an effect called phase modulation distortion when a full-range diaphragm needs to simultaneously reproduce higher frequencies. Sony’s unique signal processing technology compensates for this effect for clearer dialogue and more localised sound. The improvements in the modulated waveform enhance clarity and help prevent vocal distortion.
It takes a lot of power to accurately reproduce low bass frequencies and there’s often a risk of distortion (A). To combat this, the soundbar uses Sony’s unique signal processing technology to deliver dynamic extended bass, at any volume level (B).
Using Edge-AI (Artificial Intelligence), DSEE Extreme (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) upscales compressed digital music files in real time. Dynamically recognising instrumentation, musical genres, and individual elements of each song, such as vocals or interludes, it restores the high-range sound lost in compression for a richer, more complete listening experience.
